If the weather is very cold the shutter on the camera may freeze and valuable picture opportunities may be lost. As big a camera lens hood as possible may help to shield the lens from the rain; beware of cutting off the corners, or ‘vignetting’ the picture. Do not let weather conditions prevent photography – be prepared to have a go: the result could be surprising!
